The whole thing started the day I read Louis Bromfields book about Soil Conservation. This link brings you to a book written by his daughter.

I was 17 year old when I read Malabar and I had never read a book about agriculture before. It was intended that I should become a dentist. Thanks to fate I was an awful dentist and became an agronomist. I was not much better agronomist than dentist, but it was less painful for the patients.
