Dessin 5

A very peculiar drawing
Was there a Chinese adviser in the Region?
Possibly
Even the use of the sickle is not typical
And the crop is most unlikely.
It could have been inspired by a chinese Extension booklet.
No farmer would go in his fields with his best clothes on.
All these farmers you see on TV
Have borrowed their clothes
To look their best on the screen

This for sure is true life
As the farmers live it
Sweet potato is a good crop
But making the mounds is hard heavy job.

True life in the village
Storage of the grain
The problem?
Any rat worth his daily meal
can enter into the bin.
You can build the bin higher up
With rat protections on the poles
But then getting into the bin
Is a real problem.
And it does not prevent hungry neighbors
From helping themselves
